Aluminium Rolled Ring Forging

If only a small quantity of aluminium rings are required, Metalfast usually supply these sawn from rolled plate, however this is a very expensive way of producing rings, as there are large scrap losses from cutting the outside diameter from a square of plate, and discarding the ID.
If there is a regular requirement for reasonable quantities of a size of aluminium ring, then it is preferable to supply as a rolled forged ring. The mechanical properties of the forged ring are superior to plate, and depending on size there is usually a cost advantage as there is a much lower scrap loss in producing a rolled ring
Metalfast can offer Aluminium Alloy Rolled Rings in most usual rolled aluminium specifications on a typically 10 - 12 week leadtime.
Our mill can produce rings with outside diameters up to 4500mm in diameter up to 600mm high and a weight of up to 3000kgs
